👩🏽‍💻 Cincy NodeSchool: Intro to Node 👨🏻‍💻

This week we're taking it back to basics.

Curious about what Node is? Interested in using JavaScript on both client-side and server-side?

Node.js® (https://nodejs.org/en/) is a JavaScript runtime built on Chrome's V8 JavaScript engine (https://developers.google.com/v8/). Node.js uses an event-driven, non-blocking I/O model that makes it lightweight and efficient. Node.js' package ecosystem, npm (https://www.npmjs.com/), is the largest ecosystem of open source libraries in the world.

Tonight we'll work through the NodeSchool (https://nodeschool.io/) workshopper: learnyounode (https://github.com/workshopper/learnyounode). This will cover all sorts of fun Node basics like asynchronous io, creating http client, servers and beyond!
