Investor Panel - We’re thrilled to announce our first investor panel for the September 2023 Tech Meetup! This special event will shine a light on the “investors perspective” when it come to startup fundraising. You’ll hear exited founders, a prestigious Angel syndicate and venture capital firm 😁

What will you learn?

We’ve collated a range of questions from the tech startup community to drill into the nitty gritty of fundraising. We’ll try and cover as many as we can đŸ€—

Investor Focus:

  • When should you raise money? And, from what type of investor?
  • How much money should you raise? And, how do you determine the right valuation?
  • How important is tax relief to investors (SEIS and EIS)?
  • What are the common misconceptions about investments? Do you need a business plan?

Founder Focus:

  • What do you look for in a startup founder?
  • What does good look like in a potential investment?
  • What are the common mistakes that founders make whilst fundraising?
  • What is the best pitch/approach you’ve heard and why?
  • What single piece of advice would you give a founder fundraising?

Who is on the panel?

David Ovens - Joint Managing Director of Archangel Investors Limited (angel syndicate)

Amar Chauhan - Co-founder of Find Others and Duo Ventures (exited founder and investor)

Georgina Hollis - Co-founder of Find Others and Duo Ventures (exited founder and investor)

Mark Hogarth - Partner at Techstart Ventures LLP

-----------

Networking Drinks - Based on community feedback, we’ve removed the lighting and 2nd talk in favour of more networking time. Come along to hang out with old friends and make some new ones!

-----------

Want to get involved? We're always looking for potential speakers, collaborators, volunteers and sponsors - whatever your skillset, you can help the community. Feel free to reach out via Meetup, LinkedIn or chat with one of the organisers on the night!
