Tech Meetup November - Glasgow

Join us at Civic House, Glasgow on the first Thursday of each month for our free event featuring two talks on tech with soft drinks and pizza.

Talk 1
Powering developer productivity with AI, with Ricardo Sueiras
Within the last 12 months, the capabilities of AI have advanced exponentially. Generative AI is the next frontier of artificial intelligence, and in this talk/demo we will take a quick look at some of the tools that developers are using to help them supercharge their productivity. We will walk through some of these tools, and share resources that you can try out for yourself.

Talk 2
Spire Global: We hear you Earth, with Jack Magowan
Spire global is a space data company that builds and operates the worlds largest multi purpose satellite constellation here in Glasgow. With this constellation we capture a large array of data that then drives strategic decision making to help improve life on earth. In this talk we will share our current successes and what we have achieved in the maritime, aviation and weather industries as well as what new capabilities we are developing along with our space services customers.

All are welcome and there is no requirement to have any level of tech knowledge or experience to attend, just a desire to learn. Come along (bring your friends), network and learn something new with us!

To make Glasgow's Tech Meetup welcoming for people joining for the first time we implement the PacMan Rule.

• Who should attend?

Tech Meetup is a generalist event for everyone in the Glasgow tech community. We welcome people with all levels of experience . Even if you are starting your journey into tech as a student or bootcamper or your thinking of starting your development career, you are more than welcome.

• Why should I come?

As well as learning from your peers at our talks, you get to meet other developers and expand your network, and we also share what is going on in the wider Glasgow developer community. If you are still not sold, we have free drinks and pizza!

• Who are the organisers?

Tech Meetup is run by Keith Harrison and James Rasburn, who have both worked in tech and run community events in Glasgow over the last few decades.

• I'd like to do a talk but I've not given one before

No previous speaking experience is required and we really encourage new speaker. In fact lots of people have given their first talk at Tech Meetup. We'll give you all the help and support you need to do your first talk.

• Is the venue accessible?
