call to action - let's shape the future of ai 🚀

since monday, a few folks have been asking me and expressing worry about openai releases

the sentiment is, what on earth is there left to build in the ai space? 🤔

thousands of startups seem to have lost the core value they used to offer

and what's more frustrating, it's hard to know what to focus on

and whether openai or microsoft or google will roll out a replacement in a month or a year with their large teams and limitless budgets 💰

while no one really has the answer, as a community, we can achieve more than each of us alone.

take a close look at what openai has published

how they've structured the gpt builder

how they define agents and tools in their apis

their use of retrieval for a system API

they've taken all these ideas and patterns from the open source community.

essentially, monday's release has 0% innovation and 100% productization.

so i say - our community is actually leading 🔝

we're the ones defining the market and our ideas are being adopted by corporations

organizing community meetups was one of my game-changing moments back in 2016

and yesterday's event with charlotte reminded me why i used to organize these 🎉

i realized - now is the time to act ⏰

people accuse me of being too hyped up

but that's simply because i believe that artificial intelligence is the most important technology humanity will ever build

and i don't want to just watch openai make it happen

i want to define it 👥

and invite my linkedin and meetup community to join in this journey
