Please note: Technically Philly has partnered on organizing this session as part of a larger event hosted by SBA and BFTP-SEP. The other sessions are closed to the public.
Our lead reporter Juliana Reyes is moderating a panel discussion on the challenges and issues surrounding Tech Entrepreneurship and Social Entrepreneurship in the region.
The US Small Business Administration (http://www.sba.gov/), Office of Advocacy, will be engaging the regional ecosystem in a 4-day, 3-city forum (Wilmington, Philadelphia and Camden). This event, hosted by SBA and Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Southeastern PA, will take place on the first day of their two-day Philadelphia stop.
PLEASE RSVP directly on Basecamp here (http://bftp.cal.basecampbusiness.com/node/523021) (a Meetup RSVP does not suffice)
Space is limited and will be reserved for the first 15 who RSVP on Basecamp. Please only RSVP if you will attend.
Panelists include:
• Robert Moore, cofounder and CEO of RJMetrics
• Rebecca Lopez-Kriss, Manager, Entrepreneurial Investment at the Philadelphia Department of Commerce
• Alex Hillman, cofounder of Indy Hall
• Brigitte Daniel, Executive Vice President of Wilco Electronic Systems, Inc.
• Garrett Melby, cofounder and CEO of GoodCompany Ventures
Over the 4 days, the federal government will engage a forum of academics (including technology transfer), entrepreneurs, innovators, inventors, investors (venture capitalists, angels and EDAs): those who are involved with starting, incubating, accelerating and growing the innovation economy.
The goal of the event is to develop recommendations on barriers, best practices or BIG IDEAS that provide input to the federal government on opportunities and avenues to optimize the environment for small business entrepreneurs and innovators, and maximize the economic impact and job growth to the nation.
