What we're about
I'm Wesley, founder of The Accountancy Cloud , london accounting for tech startups. I've set up this group as a forum to provide start up tax and funding advice to start-ups in London.
I believe that there is a core of knowledge that can and should be shared for free. Every start up goes through a number of challenges when setting up a business, managing cashflow and raising investment. This meet up is a free session for emerging technology, internet and digital businesses and the professionals working in them who want to learn more about the tax issues they face as they go through these stages.
It will also be a chance to learn from other start ups, scale-ups and entrepreneurs so that members have real and practical insights. We encourage interactions and collaborations from other members who have a story to share. For the members in this group we'll cover business questions and their tax implications from a pragmatic and practical standpoint.
Typical formats of the meet up will include:
Q&A: where entrepreneurs, start-ups or developers speak out the “problem” they face, to receive feedback from experts and community members.
Sharing/Panel based: Knowledge sharing to provide peer support and discuss anything related to start up tech businesses.
Open Mic Night: Interactive sessions where entrepreneurs and start-ups can present their product to an audience, learn from other professionals, have questions answered in real-time and hear stories that inspire, we also cover the practical implications of the business and tax aspects they face.
We'll also lay on beer / refreshments / breakfast and informal sessions, this is about fostering a community and helping it grow. The sessions will be informative and fun and are intended to put something useful back into the emerging technology and digital ecosystem. Our objective is to enable its members to make informed decisions about (accounting and) tax issues without unnecessarily racking up tax bills.
We do want to ensure that members of this group are likely to benefit from the meetings, so we do ask all new members (if we don't already know you) to tell us a bit about themselves and their business. If you sign up, please do tell us a bit about yourself, otherwise, we may have to put your application on hold or even reject it.
