Details

Join us for a welcoming and inclusive coffee meetup where women and non-binary folks in tech can connect, share experiences, and build community in a relaxed setting.

September Topic: Life of a QA Engineer (with Special Guest: Alejandra Villarreal, QA Engineer)

Alejandra is a QA Engineer with a deep love for details, user experience, and quality-driven development. She has worked across agile teams to improve testing processes, enhance collaboration, and ensure that products meet real user needs. Alejandra is passionate about building inclusive, thoughtful tech, and she’s joining us to share her journey and day-to-day experience.

QA is often one of the most misunderstood roles in tech, yet it’s essential to building products people can trust.

In this session, we’ll go behind the scenes with Alejandra to learn what life as a QA Analyst actually looks like. We’ll explore:

✅ What a day in the life of a QA Analyst really involves
✅ How QA contributes to accessible, user-friendly products
✅ Skills and mindsets that help QA professionals thrive
✅ Alejandra's own path into QA and how curiosity led the way

Whether you're exploring QA as a career path, looking to collaborate more effectively with QA teammates, or just curious about how tech teams build quality products, this session is for you. As always, all experience levels and backgrounds are welcome!

Important Notes for RSVPs
We’re introducing a few questions when you RSVP to help us manage space and ensure an inclusive environment:

This is a space created to support people who are underrepresented in tech. We ask cisgender men (men who were assigned male at birth and identify as male) to respect this and not attend.

To manage limited space, we track no-shows for all Code Diversity events. If you RSVP and miss two events, you’ll be waitlisted for future events. Please update your RSVP at least 24 hours in advance if you can’t attend.

Photography & Video Disclaimer: By attending this event, you acknowledge and agree that photographs and/or video recordings may be taken. These may be used for promotional purposes, including social media, websites, and other marketing materials. If you do not wish to be photographed or recorded, please inform the event organizer upon arrival.
