For a fascinating departure from technology, we are lucky to partner with the great San Jose Jazz (http://www.sanjosejazz.org/) for an exploration into music with mathematician, physicist and Grammy-nominated jazz pianist, Vijay Iyer.

Vijay Iyer was described by Pitchfork as "one of the most interesting and vital young pianists in jazz today." The American-born son of Indian immigrants, he won an unprecedented five major awards in the 2012 DownBeat International Critics Poll and was named one of the “50 Most Influential Global Indians” by GQ India.

Prior to releasing his 14 studio albums, Iyer received an interdisciplinary Ph.D. in the cognitive science of music from the University of California, Berkeley, and has done extensive research into the effects of music and improvisation on the functions of the brain.

Join Vijay Iyer to explore why music is a powerful tool for examining the neurological basis of some of the most prized functions of the human mind. This will not be your average presentation...

Parking Info: All unmarked spots at PayPal HQ are up for grabs. When you pull into the campus, look for Town Hall (large building says "Town Hall" above doors, faces North First) and then park where you'd like.
