Building Resilience: Strategies for Overcoming Challenges

Details

Hey TED-Head Pros!

You're invited to the upcoming meetup on Wednesday, where we will explore the theme of building resilience in your professional life. Resilience is a key factor in achieving success, as it helps us bounce back from setbacks and overcome challenges with greater ease.

Kelly McGonigal will offer practical strategies for harnessing the power of stress to build resilience and thrive in the face of adversity. In addition, Caroline McHugh, will share insights on how embracing vulnerability and our unique strengths can help us build resilience in our personal and professional lives

Please join us on Zoom for an engaging discussion and the opportunity to connect with like-minded professionals. To prepare for the meetup, we encourage you to watch

Please watch the following 2 talks on your own device BEFORE the event. Have a watch, compare the videos, and bring insights and questions along to the conversation.

Talk #1: How to Make Stress Your Friend

Stress. It makes your heart pound, your breathing quicken and your forehead sweat. But while stress has been made into a public health enemy, new research suggests that stress may only be bad for you if you believe that to be the case. Psychologist Kelly McGonigal urges us to see stress as a positive, and introduces us to an unsung mechanism for stress reduction: reaching out to others.

Kelly McGonigal translates academic research into practical strategies for health, happiness and personal success.

Talk # 2: The Art of Being Yourself

In this talk, McHugh encourages viewers to embrace their unique qualities and strengths, rather than trying to conform to external expectations. She discusses how embracing our differences can help us build resilience and overcome challenges.

Caroline McHugh helps people effectively be themselves for a living. Here she presents us with a fascinating talk on the subject… Take a few minutes and enjoy!

Please note the following:
We want to provide a space for professionals who are curious about life, enjoy TED Talks, and want to share their findings with others. Please join us as we consider this topic, Wednesday, Feb. 22 at 7:00pm.
Newcomers are most welcome! Hoping to see you there.
(Please sign up only if you really intend to attend).

We'll have a great conversation and then figure out what each of us would like to commit to doing over the next month.

Let's get better together!

Cheers,
Dustyn
