Alien Contact - Joshua Tree!

Details
OVERVIEW: Joshua Tree is a magical place for making contact with advanced non-human entities! We'll meet inside the National Park, hike into the desert, meditate, reach out to our alien friends, and invite them to come and join us! We're going to camp in the desert under the stars and return to our cars in the morning!
There'll be a film crew with us at this event - in case we see anything particularly interesting! :)
MEETING LOCATION: Enter Joshua Tree National Forest from Twentynine Palms, along Utah Trail road. We'll meet at exactly 6:30 PM in the Twin Tanks Trailhead parking area, by the drop-box. Address: Twin Tanks and Arch Rock Trailhead, XXQG+RR Pinto Wye, California. Location on Google Maps:
https://maps.app.goo.gl/gnQtqNJ8sDtnyJsw8
(The closest that Meetup's automatic address-finding system was able to find to our meeting location was Twentynine Palms. Please don't try to meet us there. You have to use the Google map link above to meet us at the Twin Tanks Trailhead inside Joshua Tree National Park.)
PARKING: After you arrive in the parking area, please go to the drop-box, fill out a form, and put the form in the drop-box. If the form asks where you're going to hike to, say "about 3 miles southwest of here."
START TIME: 6:30 PM
END TIME: Sunday at about 10:00 AM
PLEASE ARRIVE ON TIME: Shortly after the displayed start time, we'll walk to the contact location. If you arrive late, there'll be no practical way for you to catch up and find us. So please plan to arrive a bit early!
HEALTH PRECAUTIONS: If you have a sore throat, runny nose, or any other cold/flu-like symptoms, please do not attend. Thank you very much for your understanding!
ENTRY COST: You'll need to purchase a pass to enter Joshua Tree. You'll most likely be able to do this in-person when you drive through the entrance. Or you could do it on your device in advance. A standard pass is $30 per vehicle. Passes can be purchased in advance here:

EVENT COST: $10 (cash or PayPal)
WALKING: From our cars, we'll walk for about 30 minutes along a desert trail to get to our contact site. Moderate levels of fitness/agility will be required.
WHAT TO BRING: Appropriate foot-wear for walking on rocky trails. A portable chair to sit on, or a camping mat to lie on (I recommend bringing a camping mat because they're easy to carry and you get a better view of the sky when lying down). A flashlight, phone light, or headlamp to walk safely in the dark. Lots of water (this is a very hot region of the desert, and we'll be walking a significant distance, so a lot of water is essential)! All the food you'll need to get you through the evening, night, and early morning. A backpack to carry everything in. Sunscreen. Sun-hat.
At this time of year, tents are optional. I will probably just bring a ground-sheet, camping mattress, sleeping bag, and pillow. We'll be carrying everything with us for about 30 minutes, so don't bring any unnecessary items.
There aren't any restrooms at this location. There are enough plants and boulders that we'll have privacy whenever needed. It's recommended to bring bathroom tissue and a small trowel for burying solid waste.
OPTIONAL ITEMS TO BRING: Binoculars. Cameras. Tripods. Electric or magnetic field detectors. Paranormal investigation equipment. A tarp to lay under your chair or mat. Hiking gaiters (to protect against thorns and spikey burs). Thermal clothing from a camping store. A sleeping bag to stay warm inside!
PLEASE DON'T BRING: Drugs, cigarettes, vapes, alcohol, weapons, fishing equipment, hunting equipment, meat products, dairy products, or any products designed to kill insects.
SIGNAL STRENGTH: Sometimes, our events take place in remote locations with very weak or no cell-phone signal. Therefore, please screenshot all of the details for this event, including maps, before travelling.
ATTITUDE: For a contact event to work, everyone needs to maintain a peaceful, cooperative, and respectful attitude. Please be gentle in the expression of your beliefs. And please be gentle in response to the beliefs of others. The event leader – Rupert – will need to guide everyone about where to sit, how to use a laser pointer, when to be quiet, which contact protocols to use, etc. Please be respectful of his wishes and cooperate with him to the best of your ability throughout the event. Thank you very much!
GUESTS/PETS: You're welcome to bring friends or guests with you.
CAMPING: When I host contact events followed by camping, it's usually fine for people to opt out of the camping and leave after the contact event. However, I don't recommend that here. It's very easy to get disoriented and lost at night in Joshua Tree National Park.
I look forward to seeing you all soon! :)
