In this event we're talking all about devops but more about the cultural shifts needed in a team to help the team thrive. This will be a great event for anyone looking to improve your management styles and encourage your devops teams.

We know devops is a key topic. It’s a lot of cost around tech and tooling but it’s a hell of a lot of leadership too…

Initially teams and upper management tend to see continuous delivery as risky and less high quality/uptime … until you win that argument, you can have all the terraform and kubernetes you want but it ain’t gonna change the world ….

Most folks know what a pipeline is and how it works, but don't understand the importance of these kinds of practical patterns for actually delivering products and changes safely ... automation is only part of it..

We're delighted to be joined by guest speakers, Chitra Kapoor from LaunchDarkly, Bojan Zivic - Principal Consultant and AWS Ambassador and also Alejandro from DevOps1.

Bojan, will give a talk on; "Fast Feedback at different scales: Quality, Design & Strategy"

In this talk we'll explore how CI/CD and DevOps both enable and benefit from a business and technology culture that embraces fast feedback. From a commit stage that gives developers feedback on code quality, to integration & e2e tests that provide feedback on system design through to rapid delivery of customer value slices that enable feedback on product strategy, feedback is the central theme. Looking through this lens will help you avoid many CI/CD and Devops anti-patterns and embrace the tools, practices & mindsets that unlock high performance software delivery.

Chitra, a former devops engineering manager at Mark43 and now a solutions architect at LaunchDarkly, will talk about her role at Launchdarkly as a feature flagging platform. She’ll be showing some data from their customers who have achieved results with the platforms new features, with faster delivery. It will be an extremely high level chat and not too technical.

Alejandro is an experienced devops and quality engineer, now consulting with DevOps1. He’ll be talking about

“The Power of Collaboration: Breaking Down the Illusion of Engineering and DevOps as One-Man Shows”. DevOps, a term that amalgamates development and operations, has gained significant traction in the tech industry. However, there exists a common misconception surrounding DevOps, often perceiving it as an individual's role rather than a holistic team culture, or a burden on engineering teams having to do it all.

We will explore, the different personas I have encounter in my career. The good, the bad and the ugly… As well as the expectations from Senior Managers including myself during many transformations in some of the biggest brands in Australia
