Looking for something meaning AND fun to do this evening? Neighborhood group members Bill and BJ are organizers of Rock Steady Boxing's 9th Annual Charity Dinner and Fundraising Kick-Off event, benefiting Parkinson’s patients.

The neighborhood potluck group is proud to be donating the high-quality navy blue polyester tablecloths use at this gala event.

Many of you know Bill and BJ Reed! The Reeds were among the first neighbors to join the neighborhood potluck group. They have been frequent participants and have met many of you at various potluck and other neighborhood events. Many of you who attend the Church of the Epiphany also know the Reeds from there. You may remember that Bill an BJ hosted the "Tempe Tamale Potluck Party" event at their home (April 21, 2023).

BJ writes:
Rock Steady Boxing: This wonderful non-profit organization provides physical therapy for Parkinson's patients as well as all individuals who have a movement disorder. Their program is specially designed to help connect the brain and muscles to work better together. It is not a cure, but it certainly helps slow down this disease! My husband, Bill, suffers from Parkinson's and we have found this an invaluable program.
The owners, Leeann and Tom Hansen, took over this studio after Leeann's brother, Dwayne, passed away from Parkinsons. He had started it and when he progressed to the point where he could not continue, Leeann and Tom became licensed coaches/instructors and have carried this on in his memory. They are wonderful, kind, carrying and knowledgeable.

If people don't want to attend the dinner, they can donate, buy raffle tickets or just click onto the website, learn more about this program. They may know someone who needs this program, or need it themselves. We learned of it from the Occupational Therapist at Mayo.

We were looking for ways to help Bill and all we knew were the Big and Loud classes that are 6 weeks long. Really? Parkinsons is for life. We have a wonderful support system and find invaluable help every time we go!
