LET'S TAKE A HIKE - BEAMAN PARK
Details
For this saunter we will do the Laurel Woods Outer Loop trail at Beaman Park. This trail covers 12.5 miles and has @ 1,500' of elevation gain. If we are lucky we may still have some fall color to explore along the trails. We will meet at the Highland Trailhead.
This hike is rated as difficult for distance and elevation. The trail has some long inclines and declines, steep areas with unstable footing, roots and wet, slick areas. Along the way there are 3 or 4 creek crossings. We've scampered across them numerous times without getting our feet wet. They are all pretty shallow or dry unless recent rain.
If people want to do a shorter hike there is a 7 mile option that starts from the same location, and still gets all of the fun of the creek crossings and steep climbs.

We will do lunch along the trail so bring your favorite hiking snacks and plenty of liquids. If people are interested we will do a post hike meal.
This event will be done with the Mid South Hiking and Adventures Meetup Group. If you are a member of both Meetup groups you only need to RSVP once.
