Lets Take a Hike! Head of the Crow State Park plus Shenanigans -near Sewanee TN

Take a break from the hustle and bustle of holiday preparations and join us for this saunter along two of the trails at the new Head of the Crow State Park; the Sherwood Loop trail and the Pack Hollow Trail. The two trails are @ 6 miles of moderate hiking, and share the same trailhead. As a bonus, depending on how the group feels we will also do the Sewanee Natural Bridge. The trail will have rocks, roots and may be slick in some area but nothing considered rugged. Some hills, but none hard or steep. We will be doing this hike along with the Mid South Hiking and Adventures Meetup

The Sherwood Loop (Lost Cove East) is rated easy. At about 3 miles +\- , the trail offers very nice valley overlooks from a couple of different points and a small natural sandstone arch as it meanders it's way through the woods. Enjoy interesting rock features and peaceful forest as it follows the base of an escarpment. Very quiet, tranquil area the times I've been there.

The Pack Hollow Trail is a 3 mile out and back trail. The trail goes through a second growth forest with some unique sandstone formations.

Depending on how the group feels we will add on a trip to the Sewanee Natural Bridge. This is a short 1/2 mile hike to a natural bridge that offers panoramic views.

We will meet at the Sherwood Loop Trail Head. Google Map Link for Trailhead. Please bring water and your favorite trail snacks for on trail dining. After the hike for those who want a post hike meal we will go to Shenanigans in Sewanee.
