Let's take a Hike - Walls of Jericho (Alabama Trailhead)

Please join us on this 7-8 mile out and back hike in a truly unique area.
Rated HARD for approx 1300' of elevation gain, rugged trail conditions and some areas which require somewhat careful, technical hiking. We will be doing this hike in conjunction with the Mid South Hiking and Adventures Meetup

Hike will start @ 9:30 CENTRAL
Let's meet at the Walls of Jericho ALABAMA trailhead.
(NOT the Tennessee trailhead)

We'll basically hike down to the 'Walls' area which is in a box canyon, explore the area, eat lunch, then hike back up, up, up.
The area is so unique it's hard for me to describe, frankly.

Depending on the water (if any) level, we'll have to rock hop or 'splash' our way back to the Walls and cave. So plan footwear accordingly.
Coming back out is a steady climb up back out of the gorge.
Expect inclines and declines, rough, rugged, rooty, rocky and at times slimy/wet and/or slippery terrain. Expect to experience all these conditions simultaneously.
Some parts of the trail are very narrow and is perched somewhat precariously on the side of a hill, hence the careful technical part.
We'll eat lunch on the trail, so bring food/snacks.
Bring PLENTY of water.
