What we’re about
"Tennis n Things" is a social tennis group designed to connect intermediate to advanced tennis players on and off the court.
To keep our group competitive we ask that our group members are at least NTRP level 3.5 (intermediate/advanced level meaning you can consistently hit the ball and know where to be on the court). Also, if it has been years since you have played, we request that you scrape off your rust at one of the other tennis meet-ups for a bit. We want to see you at your best!
To join, we will request that you attend one of the meetup events. This is not a test or a way to eliminate people, but just a chance to meet you and make sure you can maintain a high level of play.
If you are more of a beginner, we encourage you to join the other tennis groups and come back when you've had some more time on the court. This group is about competitive SOCIAL tennis and we want people to make friends.
We ask that at most events everyone brings a snack or some dish to share (we understand that this might not always be possible, but hope you will make the effort). Taking a break and eating together will allow you to get to know the other people on the court.
Most of our group members are also event organizers. We do ask that the event organizer shows up to the event, or in case something comes up and you cannot come, to pass the responsibility over to another member who RSVP'd. We want all of our events to be fun, but also organized, so as to get as much court time as possible.
To cover the cost of meetup (no this website is not free) organizers will bring a "Double Fault Jar" to each event. Each double fault will cost a quarter, so bring change to the events. **Note....we haven't really been good at this since Kelsey moved.....the Meet-Up Gods charge $90 every 6 months. If you like the group, please consider "chipping in" by clicking on "chip in" on the website, or you can give your donation to Michelle or Bill.
This group is to make friends, so we will also post non-tennis activities: like game night, hiking, movie night etc.. We encourage our members to post these kind of events as well. There is no limit, but we would like to ask that members remain active. If you plan on being inactive for over a month, please remove yourself for that time and come back. Thank you for considering "Tennis n Things." See you on the court!
P.S. While you are waiting for us to approve you, join the SLC Meet-up Group.

They have no minimum level requirements, but most of the people that come to play are great players....just like you! We do many tennis activities in conjunction with them, so it is a good idea to sign up there also, so that you'll be in the loop.
