What we’re about

WELCOME
"Tennis with Rusty" offers a variety of inviting, encouraging, and engaging programs for players of all levels.

500 FIVE-STAR RATINGS
Five stars is the highest rating a program can receive on Meetup, and we are deeply thankful for the nearly 500 five-star ratings we have received since "Tennis with Rusty" began in May 2023. We take the ratings seriously, as they reveal and reinforce the things we do well, and they provide additional insight into areas for improvement. We are continual learners and seek to always improve, just as we ask of our students.

WBRZ-TV FEATURE STORY
Thanks to Lauren Hawkins of WBRZ-TV, Channel 2, for producing a story about tennis, its accessibility in Baton Rouge, and its inclusiveness. I was honored to be asked to participate and invite you to watch it at this link: https://www.wbrz.com/news/get-2-moving-tennis-with-rusty-jabour

GROUP SESSIONS
Join us for any of these sessions that are convenient for you:

  • "Night Cap" on Wednesdays is for players who are rated 2.5 or higher. This session focus on higher-level drills, match scenarios, and match play for current and aspiring league players.
  • "Taking Up Tennis" on Saturdays is for beginners and newer players. The sessions feature encouraging drills, scenarios, and play to help beginning and newer players develop their skills and knowledge of tennis.
  • "Boot Camp," held periodically, is a special, three-hour training program for intermediate and advanced players. Attendance is limited, and training is focused on shotmaking, hitting targets, court positioning, and match play.

LESSONS AND COACHING

  • USTA and GBRCTA League Teams: We are honored to coach several men's, women's, and mixed (coed) league teams. Several of those teams have won local championships and have either won the State Tournament or have played in the finals. If your team would like our help, please email RustyJabour@yahoo.com.
  • Individual, shared, or group lessons: In addition to group sessions and teams, we offer private, shared, or group lessons. If you would like to schedule a lesson for yourself or with others, please email RustyJabour@yahoo.com.
