Open Books Readings get-together
Details
The Frankfurt Book Fair comes with 4 days of book presentations and readings in the centre of Frankfurt, at free entry.
IMPORTANT- contrary to all other of our events, this one requires a solid understanding of German. The readings will largely be held in German language!
Our first reading of tonight takes place in the Museum of History of Frankfurt, between Römer square and river, at 6:30pm. German author Hanno Sauer discusses in his book „Klasse“ the different layers of social and economic classes and how they arise in our minds.
We meet at 18:20 directly in the room - just enter the Museum, entrance to all readings is free and without ticket, and continue straight ahead to the other side of the building where you find the reading room. There will be a Meetup sign to indicate where we are.
For those not interested in this topic, we continue the event just 2 mins walk from the reading with the night of Literature directly in the Römer city hall. This has 8 short readings of interesting German, Swiss and Austrian writers. Drinks and snacks will be sold at the venue (cash needed ). It will start at 8pm.
Meeting point: 19:40 inside Römer or more likely in the queue in front of Römer (this is a popular event and it might take a while to enter). Look out for a Meetup sign. There may be checks of larger bags, avoid bringing glass bottles. You can leave the building after each of the readings. Please note that the later you arrive the more likely it is that you have to stand or possibly not being let into the venue. In the unlikely case we do not manage to enter, we would go to another reading tbd - many venues are in short walking distance.
The time between readings will be used for talk about literature or other stuff. Cu soon.
