Ecuadorian/Argentinian concerts @Semana Latinamericana
Details
Tonight concludes our Trilogy of visits to Instituto Cervantes and the Semana Latinamericana festival that comes with a lot of performances from Latin America. It‘s a privately organised Initiative, funded by different sponsors and donations collected during the event. Apart from voluntary donations, entrance is free.
Tonight’s programme consists of two concerts. While other events this week are entertainment/dance concerts, tonight is more a mix of traditional and sophisticated music.
18:00 Carlos Grijalva, a famous Ecuadorian Singer and composer, combining traditional playing pieces combined with modern influences. He will present his new album “Volver a Ver” on this European
Tour.
We meet in the lobby 17:50 to gather and meet new people, and then move into the big Aula (straight ahead from the entrance) for the concert.
During a concert break, 19:15 or so, we gather outside in the reception area where usually drinks/ small snacks are on offer. Possibly the break can also be used by a part of the group for quick dinner at a nearby restaurant.
At 20:00, there will be a concert of Argentinian Guitar Duo playing chamber music with modern elements.
Though the music is in Spanish, this event is not for Spanish speakers only, if you don’t mind that a lot a Spanish will be spoken at the venue.
You can join any time, we’ll give indication where in the room we are in the event chat.
