Hiking in the Vaals-Drielandenpunt area

Hi dear Culti friends!

I was thinking for a while that it would be great if we can schedule a meetup as an excursion or outdoor activity here. For doing so, with no doubt the "Vaals-Drielandenpunt" area is the best candidate, as one of the most beautiful places in this region. It is actually the 3-countries border between Netherlands, Belgium and Germany, with magnificent picturesque views on the hills and forests..

So, this is the plan:

• For those who come from Maastricht, we can go there by public transport. There are regular buses between Maastricht and Vaals (Bus No. 350, which eventually rides to Aachen). This takes normally 52 minutes. Meeting point will be the Maastricht Central Station, and we gather there at 11:15am, inside the main hall of station (in front of Albert Heijn TO GO).. Bus 350 departs at 11:34am on Sundays, so we can still wait a couple of minutes for late-comers.. but please do not come later than this, as you might miss the bus and the whole group for the rest of the event..

• From Vaals, we start our hiking path toward Drielandenpunt. It's a roughly 2.5km distance, with scenic views and lots of nice fresh air! :) Depending on our pace (I can imagine lots of pictures to be taken in between!), it takes between 0.5-1 hour.

• Then we can have some drinks and snacks in one of the Cafes in the Drielandenpunt area for 1-2 hours.

• We walk back again to Vaals, and get on the bus 350 to come back to Maastricht.

• For those who come from other cities, you can join us either from Maastricht Central Station, or from the bus stop in Vaals. Please contact me to coordinate this.
