What we’re about
Do you like playing chess poorly in pubs? Do you enjoy refreshing beverages outdoors? Would you like to meet others who like playing chess, but don't play it seriously? Leave your book of openings behind, and come relax with the Terrible Chess Players Society of Abuja. We are a group of talentless chess aficionados looking for an excuse to play the game and meet others who do the same. Some ground rules:
- Games are not serious.
- Bring your own board if you have one.
- This is an inclusive group - folks of all ages, genders, backgrounds, religions, races, and sexual orientation are welcome.
- That being said, if you are super good at chess, we will find you insufferable and will tell you so repeatedly.
- While events will have alcoholic beverages, there is no pressure to partake, and families are welcome to join.
Events will be simple - we will pick a venue, date, and time, we will bring our boards, and we will play chess. More importantly, we will meet like-minded individuals.
