"Seaward, ho! Hang the treasure! It’s the glory of the sea that has turned my head. " - Robert Louis Stevenson
You had dreams of being a pirate when you were a child. The High Seas, Freedom and all the treasure you could want. That was before "The Scourge... Haunting screams echoed over sandy beaches, and from the death black waves crawled the undead. At first they came in single numbers, but hordes gestated and soon settlements were blotted out. Possessed flesh of dead sailors, ghosts of displaced inhabitants, skeletal constructs shrouded in seaweed and muck, and horrible monsters born from the unknowable dark places in the world: They emerged from the sea and consumed all. Survivors fortified cities and bolstered strongholds. Soon after, the effects of ASH were discovered. A new status quo was born.
Now you stand on the deck of The Tarantula, run by the tyrannical Captain Bloodwhip. You thought it might be safer on his ship and joined his crew but the man's madness haunts his every decision. You've been sailing the seas around the Bahamas for 3 weeks, being told to do every terrible job while the Captain obsesses over a map, sending the ship to random ports, looking for... something. It's not a comfortable life but at least you're still breathing... That's gotta be lucky, right? Well your luck seems to have run out because the seas seem angry and the Ship's First Mate, Mr Scaggs, has yelled out "A Hurricane's a-forming!" The seas rocks the ship, the rains pelt your face and the fog is rollin' in thick just as lightning pierces the sky! In the brief flash of light you see it. In the fog, a BLACK GALLEON! This can't get any worst.... right?
Pirate Borg is a game is about being a greedy, filthy, scoundrel.
Find a ship. Recruit some crew. Raid, pillage, plunder, and otherwise pilfer your black guts out. Get a bigger ship. Kill some things. Upgrade your ship. Sneak into a fort. Raid a port. Acquire treasure. Bury said treasure. Become infamous. Search for someone else’s treasure. Flee in terror from unfathomable creatures from the deep. Drink all of the rum. Die on the high seas. This session will be a combination of Session 0 and intro Scene. Character Creation will be done on at the table, rather easily before we jump into the intro scene as your group encounters what lies on the Black Galleon. This game will be held online on the groups Discord Server via Voice Chat. We have a bot in the Server that can handle Dice rolls but Live rolling is allowed. The game will most likely be 4 hours or less, depending on the players. Please arrive early or on time, as we may have a limited time to play. We should be done by 11 but the game may go over that time. If you have any questions, we can chat before hand within the groups Discord Server. We will be using the Foundry VTT for gameplay.

A heads up as to how I run games. I go for full horror. What that means, is slow moments of tension followed by moments of high terror. A roller coaster, if you will. Humor has its place at the table as long as it is within the game narrative. Please keep outside humor to a minimum as it distracts from the game. I also tend to focus on ROLEplay over ROLLplay. I have run games where dice rolls have been in the single digits. I am also flexible with the rules, which the main hard rule being If you roll equal or lower then your skill, you succeed and if higher, you fail. Everything else is up to me. No Rules Lawyers Please. Also Progression is not prominent in my games and this is because characters tend not to last too long. If your character survives 3 to 4 adventures, they will be a bit improved but your attachment to the character will be more based on the experiences he/she went through. Its about your STORY not your STATS. If none of this seems to be a match for your mentality, I would suggest trying another game, but if you are willing to give this play style a chance, feel free to attend.
