Escape from Innsmouth - Call of Cthulhu 7th Ed - One Shot
Details
"The first thing you have to do is accept that decay sets in and there's nothing you can do about it" - Francesca Annis
Brian Burnham is the manager of the small First National Grocery in Innsmouth, part of a rapidly growing East Coast chain of markets. His supervisor is district manager Arthur Anderson of Arkham, responsible for stores in Arkham, Kingsport, Innsmouth. While checking on the youth's progress, Anderson discovered the store dark, the door unlocked and the till empty. He reported the state of the store to local authorities, only to be told that Burnham had burglarized the store, did a same to another nearby store and was arrested, only to escape from them with a stolen car. But something doesnt seem right, it sounds nothing like Burnham. Something fishy is going on here....
Arthur Anderson has hired a group of investigators to look into his missing store manager. Your job will be to go to Innsmouth and dig up any information you can on Brian Burnham and to see if you can track him down. But be cautious, Innsmouth is an old fishing town with a history of disease and decay and the locals don't seem to be very receptive to outsiders. Will you be able to find the missing boy and if so, will you be able to Escape from Innsmouth?
Escape from Innsmouth is a part of the Call of Cthulhu - Escape from Innsmouth sourcebook, and was written by Keith Herber. It is set in Mid July of 1927 in an area between Ipswich and Rowley, Massachusetts. I will be bringing a batch of pre-generated characters for use. If a character you used prior makes sense to bring back, feel free. The game will most likely be 4 hours or less, depending on the players and should be one session but it may take two sessions to complete.
Please come online early or on time, as we will have a limited time to play. We should be done by 11pm. Call of Cthulhu uses a 2 d10 percent based system along with the "basic set" of dice used for RPGs (d20, d10, d8, d6, and d4). This game will be held online on the groups Discord Server via Voice Chat. We have a bot in the Server that can handle Dice rolls but Live rolling is allowed.

A heads up as to how I run games. I go for full horror. What that means, is slow moments of tension followed by moments of high terror. A roller coaster, if you will. Humor has its place at the table as long as it is within the game narrative. Please keep outside humor to a minimum as it distracts from the game. I also tend to focus on ROLEplay over ROLLplay. I have run games where dice rolls have been in the single digits. I am also flexible with the rules, which the main hard rule being If you roll equal or lower then your skill, you succeed and if higher, you fail. Everything else is up to me. No Rules Lawyers Please. Also Progression is not prominent in my games and this is because characters tend not to last too long. If your character survives 3 to 4 adventures, they will be a bit improved but your attachment to the character will be more based on the experiences he/she went through. Its about your STORY not your STATS. If none of this seems to be a match for your mentality, I would suggest trying another game, but if you are willing to give this play style a chance, feel free to attend.
