4th of July Block Party & Car Show

South Side Maker Block Party
A Celebration of creativity, resourcefulness, and community!
South Side Hackerspace, in collaboration with local makers, community organizations, and
creative entrepreneurs, is hosting a maker fair and DIY block party on Friday, July 4, in front of
the Chicago Sustainable Manufacturing Center (Bubbly Dynamics).
This free event celebrates
everything DIY - from art and science to gardening and engineering – and is open to the entire
community.
Local artists, crafters, gardeners, engineers, hobbyists, and scientists will be on hand to
showcase their work. Discover new projects, learn about cool technology, and engage with
community organizations - the South Side Maker Block Party is an opportunity for everyone to
share, learn, and do!
The event will feature delicious food from local vendors, live music, and the electric thrill of a
Power Racing Series competition! Watch as skilled drivers race electric-powered vehicles in an
adrenaline-pumping showcase of DIY and experimental engineering.
This event is a celebration of creativity, resourcefulness, and collaboration. We invite sponsors,

and inspiration throughout our community.

After Night Fall
ACFM Inc. will host their much-loved annual celebration featuring
outdoor bands, fireworks, and a cookout in the evening across from the
Block Party
ChiTown Teslas will be showcasing a few of our cars during the block party. Please let us know if you’d like to participate! We plan on arriving at noon.
