'Code without caution: AI's path to the next digital disaster' talk details
This talk is controversial - and there is no mention of Terminator or AI taking your jobs, think we are all fatigued by those messages. This talk combines many impactful messages and stories. I am going to predict the future – and I’m hoping I’m very wrong about that future. Those of you who have been attending Test Heads for some time may have seen my talk 5 years ago trying to predict the future. Well, here I am again, with a different take.

I start with the prediction, which is "Code Without Care or Quality: AI's Path to the Next Digital Disaster": The rate of code entering live and reaching our customers will be at such a fast rate that there could be a disaster. I talk about the swings we've seen in the last 26 years within tech around focus on certain roles and trends (testers in early 1998 - 1999, then Project managers, then Engineers etc etc etc), and then where that focus might be after a disaster, or in fact where it needs to be to avert disaster.

I also cover the different roles I feel all companies need to consider, which one of them is an AI Glue Work type person (QE).

Take aways:
• An insight into a different take on how we progress to adopting AI in the next 5 years
• The swings of focus on different roles in the past 26 years, and where the focus will be if we head to this disaster
• Roles we need in AI in order to avert the disaster
• What YOU can do tomorrow in work to avert disaster
