Since the career move, Carl has taken on roles of tester, performance engineer, UI developer, SDET, and as a servant leader. Carl has been at Vrbo for 11 years where he has taken on a variety of roles that included Senior Director of Quality Engineering, Director of Engineer for an Agile tools team, and Resiliency Advocate. Carl has presented around the globe on topics related to software testing and agility. Some fun facts about Carl are that he loves golf, poker, and heavy metal music.

Title: The Funny Things that Happened on the Way from QA to DevOps:
What do you do when the new CTO states there will no longer be QA? You must transition us to DevOps. During this presentation, we will take a look at an experience transitioning a large QA Organization (globally distributed 135 person team) toward a DevOps model with “zero" QA. During this presentation, we will open the box of many mistakes and misunderstandings. We will evaluate the key things learned on the way. We will conclude on the current state of this QA to DevOps adventure. Join this session to hear and discuss the journey of this rapid transition.
