Lets Meet in Person! The plight of QA's, ChatGPT, AI & The future of testing!
Details
It's been a long time in the making, so we are super excited to announce that we are finally getting together for an epic in-person Test Talks Wales event in Cardiff to get our series of in person meetups kick started again 🥳
So, put the date in your diary and join us for an evening filled with awesome test talks, and of course, delicious pizza and drinks courtesy of our very generous hosts for the night, Principality, who have kindly offered to host us in their stunning newly refurbished office space in Central Cardiff. Plus, we’ll also have a £25 Amazon voucher giveaway courtesy of SR2 – Socially Responsible Recruitment up for grabs.
We've got two incredible talks lined up that you won't want to miss:
Talk One : Paul (Sappo) Sapnik - Co-founder DoesQA "The Plight of QAs... and how we can help ourselves",
Join Sappo, co-founder of DoesQA, for a slightly cynical critique of QA in rapid development teams.
Together we'll cover typical sprints, testing maturing systems, and what a tester "sells" to a company. We'll look at a few ways to help ourselves and a new codeless automation tool called DoesQA that we have developed to improve our lives.
Whether you're a newbie or an experienced professional, DoesQA allows you to leverage your skills and maximise your value!
Talk Two: Daniel Geather, VP AI Delivery at Qualitest - ChatGPT, Generative AI and the Future of Testing
In the last few months we've seen a huge surge in interest in AI, Machine Learning and what it means for industry. Business are starting to understand that the current and future generations of Machine Learning technology are going to change software deliveries just as fundamentally as the invention of the internet, the rise of automation, and the birth of agile & DevOps methods did.
We've all seen and heard of advanced AI tools like ChatGPT, MidJourney and GitHub copilot, but what do advanced AI-powered tools really mean for the future of software testing and quality? What will they enable us to do and what can't they do?
In this talk we'll be looking at what LLMs like the GPT models and other families of Generative AI might mean for software testing in the next few years and what we need to do to get ready for them.
For 15 years Daniel has worked as a software consultant, helping organisations large & small implement, test and release high quality software at scale. Currently, Daniel's focus is in helping teams understand where the worlds of QA and AI collide, not just testing the latest family of AI powered technology, but also understanding how data, information and Machine Learning insight can transform software delivery processes.

This meetup is open to everyone and anyone with an interest in Software Testing. We want to make this evening as friendly and welcoming as possible because, hey, it's been a while! Whether you're a first-timer or a seasoned attendee, we promise to make you feel super welcome. 😁
Here's a sneak peek of how the evening will unfold:
- 5:30 pm: Doors open – feel free to turn up from then. We've got an incredible spread of pizza, soft drinks, and alcoholic options, all free, courtesy of our hosts at Principality. Grab a slice, mingle with our friendly crowd, and make some new connections. Need an introduction? Just chat with one of our organizers, or dive right in and say "hello!"
- Sometime between 6:15 and 6:30 pm: It's showtime! We'll kick off the talks, starting with Sappo's talk and followed by Daniel's mind-expanding journey into the future of AI and testing.
We look forwards to seeing you there 😁
