Underwater Hockey Taster Session

All abilities are welcome, equipment provided and completely free for beginners!

• 7:30pm Meet at Tewkesbury Leisure Centre
• 8:00pm - 9:00pm In the pool

What is underwater hockey?
Underwater Hockey is a team game played on the bottom of the swimming pool!

There are two teams competing to get a small weighted puck into their opponents’ goal. The game is played exclusively on the bottom of the pool, so players need to hold their breath whilst playing. However, you can come up for air and go back down as many times as you need to.

Players wear a mask, snorkel, fins, water polo hat and glove. Fins allow players to swim much faster meaning the game can move extremely quickly even underwater.

Underwater Hockey is a great way to stay fit. No two games will ever be the same, so why not try something different? We promise you won’t get bored!

Who can join?
New players of all abilities are very welcome to join us – you just need to be over 18 years old and be able to swim.

There’s no need to bring any specialist kit – we can provide you with what you need – just let us know you are coming beforehand so we can make sure we have everything ready for you. Your first session is free of charge!
