The emergence of blockchain protocols provides us with an opportunity to rethink what we mean by governance. The global transition to remote working has become the new normal for many organisations and institutions.

Blockchain protocols allow you to engineer trust. In a world existing outside of the confines of the office building. Most organisations globally are currently, or in the process of fundamentally evaluating business practices.

Outside of that the world is negotiating how to control its citizens movements. The world is currently engaged with a complex negotiation of its ideological foundations. Blockchains are doing the same, but more explicitly. In this session we will propose an approach to evaluation blockchain governance and discuss how blockchain protocols can inform the way that governance is going to change globally.

Our speaker and moderator will be Dr. Nick Almond. Nick is a blockchain researcher with a Ph.D. in experimental physics and 15 years of experience in academic senior leadership. He is currently an Associate Dean at University Arts London and has lectured in physics, mathematics, cryptography, technology, and education theory. He is an expert in disruptive technology and is working on a range of blockchain-based tools that target governance architecture and education.
