What we’re about
Redwood City Social is for those interested in engaging in fun activities such as happy hours, wine tastings, dining at new restaurants, game nights, trivia, museums, movies, live music events and hiking!
We enjoy checking out new hot spots as well as those tried and true venues. Most of our events take place in Redwood City and nearby cities along the peninsula including Mountain View, Menlo Park, Palo Alto, San Carlos, Belmont, Redwood Shores, Foster City, San Mateo, Burlingame and San Bruno.
The three most popular comments that we get from people after events is that they had so much fun, met awesome people and tried out a place that had not been to before.
Profile Photo:
When you join, please upload a profile photo of yourself, as opposed to a cartoon, animal or nature photo. Since attendees are often meeting multiple new people during events, this makes it easier for them to recognize and remember you before and after events.
Disclaimer:
Attend RWCS events at your own risk. By attending any Redwood City Social event, you take full responsibility for your health. - Mill Valley Hike to a Historic Inn and Pancake Breakfast!810 Panoramic Hwy, Mill Valley, CA
Do you like hiking? Do you like pancakes?
If the answer to either of these questions is ‘yes’ - consider joining me for a Sunday hike in Mill Valley to the historic West Point Inn for a full pancake breakfast put on by WPI volunteers. The history of the inn dates back to the late 19th century when it was a stop on the “The Crookedest Railroad in the World” (A stomach churning 281 turns) from Mill Valley to the East Peak of Mt Tamalpais.
Pancake breakfasts are from 9am to 1pm. The cost is $13 for an adult portion and $8 for kids (under 12 yo). Blueberries are available when in season for additional $2.
June 16th is Father’s Day and this event will end by 12pm for those with afternoon plans. So whether you’re into hiking or just looking to sculpt that dad bod with a stack of pancakes, read on for further details:
What: an easy Sunday morning hike to a cash-only pancake breakfast at a historic inn in Mill Valley. The inn is accessible by bike or hiking only. We will hike approximately 2 miles to the inn along a road and the Matt Davis Trail and Nora Trails.
When: Sunday, June 16th, 8 am.
How to find us: We will meet in the parking lot across from the Mountain Home Inn, Mill Valley. For those wishing to carpool from the mid peninsula, I will be arranging a carpool to meet off of the I-280 near Redwood City. More details on that to follow.
Directions & parking: There is no charge to park your car at the Panoramic Highway parking lot across from the Mountain Home Inn.
What to bring: Sunscreen, hiking boots and appropriate clothing, water (none available at the inn), cash for the pancake breakfast, your appetite.Important to note:
~Bring cash. Although the website states they also accept Venmo I would recommend bringing cash.~We meet at 8 am across from the Mountain Home Inn, arriving either individually or by carpool. We will hit the trail at 8:15 am sharp. If you are late you will be left behind.
~Please keep RSVP’s updated. No shows will be removed from my future events.
~Dogs allowed outside the inn but not inside.
For more information on the inn, directions, history, volunteer opportunities and more check out their website: https://www.westpointinn.com/pancake-breakfasts
