Embrace the untrodden path

ZIP-ZAP-ZOP...Mind meld.... Two headed monster...
No..these are not low-tier cocktails filled with cheap rum and soda but gateways to a potential new hobby in improv....
Improv is essentially a performative collaboration involving..
-two or more people creating a whole made up scene involving a location/characters/dialogue
- short form games -where the improvisors can perform short game driven scenes, often involving a editor/director outside the scene
-many other formats/forms. think of improv as a lump of play-doh, in which you can twist and stretch it to the limits of your imaginations.
to aid us in this seemingly (but definitely worthwhile) journey, we have our guiding principles
"Yes and.."
"make your scene partner an artist and a poet"
"embrace the unknown and untrodden path"
This will (I hope) be a fun and collaborative experience (its free, so why not try)
Now for the serious admin bit....This will be a introductory class to the world of improvisational theatre. The introductory session will consist of
- meet and greet- exchange our names (done standing in a circle- all improv start of classes are done in circles)
-warm up games- be prepared to play with total strangers
-basic short two-person scenes
The session venue will be confirmed closer to the evening but will be in Thames Ditton village.
Even though this is a freeform medium of expression, everyone is treated equally, regardless of age, sex, gender, ethnicity, religious belief, sexual orientation or physical abilities.
