James Baldwin & Felix Gonzalez-Torres at NPG

Details
Before all LGBT exhibits are stricken from Smithsonian museums, let's get over to the National Portrait Gallery again, this time for two small exhibits: James Baldwin & the Voices of Queer Resistance and Felix Gonzalez-Torres: Always to Return.
The Baldwin exhibit looks at his connection to a variety of queer artists, writers, and activists from the 1950s to the 1980s. The Gonzalez-Torres exhibit displays a number of his conceptual art pieces, often influenced by the AIDS crisis and other sociopolitical events during the horror show of the Reagan/Bush years.
We'll meet at 11 a.m. in the museum's central, indoor courtyard and take a look at both exhibits. Each is quite small, so afterward, folks can choose to take a look at other exhibits or the permanent collection of NPG and SAAM if they'd like. If folks get separated, we'll meet up again in the central courtyard at 12:30 to talk about what we've seen or wish each other adieu.
Please feel free to invite friends, even if they're not on Meetup. The more, the merrier!
