For years, I've been giving a walking tour called Queering Capitol Hill. Our next two events are iterations of this tour held as part of WalkingTown DC 2025. This tour kicks off on Sunday 9/14 at 1 p.m. from the plaza at the Eastern Market metro station. Here's the tour description:

Capitol Hill has long been a social and residential center for Washington, DC’s gay and lesbian community. It has also been a neighborhood for bars and clubs, innovative women’s businesses and our federal government. Join this tour to hear stories of radical lesbian separatists, First Amendment fights, the underpinning of LGBT religious organizations, interactions with Marines, and other tales from eight decades of gay and lesbian life in the shadow of the U.S. Capitol.

WalkingTown DC asks that you pre-register with them (https://www.eventbrite.com/e/25-queering-capitol-hill-tickets-1637100986119?aff=odcleoeventsincollection), but even if the tour is officially "full," please come out anyway! I will take as many people on the tour as show up.
