As an English language specialist Maida Haltrecht is passionate about helping immigrants to improve their English speaking and grammar skills while helping them get acclimated to Canadian customs. She enjoys meeting and talking with people from other countries and loves to learn about their cultures while working with them.
Maida is a certified teacher and has been helping others better their English since 2002. In 2013 she spent a week in Spain as a volunteer English teacher to guide the residents in perfecting their English-speaking skills. This was done through one on one conversations, group discussions, games, and skits.
Are you looking for 1:1 help outside the meet-up? Maida is available for private sessions and classes where you’ll receive more in depth guidance. These sessions can include:
1) An opportunity to improve your conversational English and learn more grammar in a private setting.
2) Proofreading of documents or websites you’ve written.
3) Trips to places you’d like to familiarize yourself with, carrying on English conversation.
