JVM Roundabout #21 - Building API's (In partnership with Intuit)

**Important notice: We will be live streaming this meet-up on our YouTube channel. Set a reminder on Youtube here: https://youtu.be/oSHHCu9Ljh0 ** Hello community! We hope you and your loved ones are all safe & healthy. We are missing you all! We are delighted to announce JVM Roundabout #21 will be run in partnership with our friends at Intuit where we will be discussing Building API's We have an amazing first couple of talks and are working hard to secure a third speaker which will be announced ASAP! Firstly we will hear from Varsha Venkatesh (Senior Software Engineer at Intuit) Who will be taking a look at what we learnt from building an API platform: This talk shares our insights from building FormFly API platform. The focus will be on the different components of building a great API such as pagination, search & filtering, versioning and error handling. You will also hear more on our design first process which we believe is the heart of designing a great API, it encourages customer centric thinking and improves teams velocity in building APIs The Second speaker will be Johan Aludden (Senior Software Engineer at Intuit) who will be discussing API development without framework: We will go through what we have found out when writing the same application with Spring Boot and Jetty using Java Servlets. We will explain what we think are the main benefits and drawbacks between each of the solutions and what implications they have on the developers, team and operations. We will be announcing a third speaker ASAP so keep an eye out for that Unfortunately this time there is no opportunity for pizza & beer/wine but we can't wait until there is! You will still be able to put questions to the speakers. Agenda 5:05pm - Varsha Venkatesh (Senior Software Engineer at Intuit) 'Building a great API' 5:30pm - Johan Aludden (Senior Software Engineer at Intuit)- 'API development without framework' 5:55pm - Third Speaker (Announcement ASAP) Thanks all!
