If unable or do not know if you can do certain walks/hikes try our evening walks for an hour to test yourself and to talk to other members who can explain how difficult or easy some walks/hikes are and you talk about our other posted events such as biking/kayaking. Tuesdays & Thursdays @ 7pm. We have slow to medium paced and fast paced walkers. Make sure you go your pace to prevent an injury.

THE HIKE/WALK:
PACE: comfortable pace - please do not go faster than the majority of the group. If you get ahead and do not know the venue you are responsible for yourself. Rule of thumb for safety, wait at all junctions.
DIFFICULTY: easy but endurance required
DISTANCE: APPROX 17km
ELEVATION GAIN: minimal...a couple of longer low grades
TIME: 4.5 - 5+ hours - dependent on pace
BRING: snack/lunch/water
WEAR: proper clothing for conditions and a change in your pack and/or car in case of rain/sweating
FOOTWEAR: good hiking boots/shoes
SEASON: all year

This is a huge park with lots of amazing trails and they are adding more all the time.
We will start off with the Maple Vine Trail which parallels the main trail, then the Ravine Trail and the Little River Loop Trail for a warmup.
Afterwards we will do the Shaggy Mane Trail (approx. 11kms return) with lunch at the Gazebo.
Very easy walking at a nice pace, a few short steep hills but most seasoned walkers can do this no problem. Just keep in mind the length of the combined trails and the time needed to complete the trails.
