It's the word that gets used on us the earliest and sticks the longest. Lazy. Not applying yourself. Could do better if you tried. And most of us stopped arguing a long time ago and just quietly agreed.

So let's actually look at it. What does anyone mean when they call a person lazy? What are they seeing, what are they assuming, and does the word hold up at all under two hours of pressure from a room full of people who've been called it their whole lives?

I bring one question. You bring your own version of it. Most of the time is you talking: to each other, to me, and to the room. My job is to ask the questions that get us somewhere none of us would reach alone.

You'll leave knowing you're not alone in this. You'll leave knowing it isn't you. And you'll leave with something you could actually say the next time someone reaches for that word.

I'm Emma Gat, a certified ADHD life coach and philosopher. I've spent about twenty years studying this brain, mostly because it's mine. People started calling me the Gandalf of ADHD, which I did not choose but have accepted.

You don't need a diagnosis. You don't need to have your life together. You need to be willing to talk.

Zoom link will be going out the day before.
