The next mission is a high-stakes surgical strike to recover Copper Soul’s spirit from the Reliquary of Perpetual Stasis, a retrieval that serves as the definitive strategic pivot for the resistance. This operation takes place on a volatile volcanic ridge where the very ground pulses with the rhythmic, low-frequency crimson light of Dragonseye flora, a plant prized by miners because it exclusively grows over veins of gold
. The atmosphere is a hazardous "choking cocktail" of scents, featuring the sharp, spicy cinnamon-nutmeg aroma of bursting False Pumpkin spore pockets clashing with the rotten-egg sulfur stench of St. Peter’s Stench blooms
.
The tactical environment has been heavily terraformed by enemy commanders Pictla the Hellfire and Cassius the Wise, who have reinforced natural basalt vents into masonry bunkers. Utilizing the ridge’s natural resources, they have pre-positioned volatile alchemical traps crafted from harvested Cinderpetals—bright red volcanic flowers known to produce a powder that, when combined with water, creates Alchemist’s Fire

Beyond the environmental hazards, the party faces a severe moral dilemma, a key ingredient in creating meaningful heroic quests
. The mages have pacted eight Redtower civilians—seven merchants and one guard Casted away from Goldcrest—transforming them into a mutated vanguard known as the Pacted Vanguard. This forces the party to strike down familiar faces from the Scarlet Citadel’s outskirts in what is described as a psychological weapon designed to preserve the mages' own vitality
