Istanbul Global Youth Climate Leadership Convention (IGYCC) 2026 is a premier international youth leadership gathering organised by AfriLead EduTourism Network (ALEN), bringing together young leaders, climate advocates, students, researchers, entrepreneurs, innovators, and social impact professionals from around the world to engage in climate action, sustainability, innovation, and global cooperation. The convention will be held in Istanbul, Türkiye, from 6–9 November 2026, as part of the global journey toward COP31.
Designed as a transformative four-day leadership experience, IGYCC 2026 aims to empower participants with the knowledge, networks, skills, and inspiration needed to become effective climate leaders in their communities and beyond. Through interactive sessions, leadership discussions, cultural exchange activities, networking opportunities, and sustainability-focused engagements, delegates will explore practical solutions to today's environmental challenges while building meaningful international partnerships.
Hosted in Istanbul, a city that bridges Europe and Asia, the convention provides a unique platform for intercultural learning and global dialogue. The event connects the rich historical and cultural significance of Istanbul with the international climate agenda leading to the UN Climate Change Conference (COP31) in Türkiye, creating an environment where emerging leaders can translate climate awareness into action.
The convention is open to applicants aged 16 to 55 years from all nationalities and seeks to convene approximately 300 delegates committed to advancing a more sustainable, climate-resilient, and equitable future. Selected participants will join a diverse global network of changemakers dedicated to driving innovation, environmental stewardship, and international collaboration.
