Discussion with the writer Abi Daré at Lëtzebuerg City Bibliothèque
Details
The Panafro Book Club is thrilled to announce that, in a few months, we will welcome British-Nigerian author Abi Daré for an exceptional literary event in partnership with Lëtzebuerg City Bibliothèque
On this special occasion, Abi Daré will present her two acclaimed novels: The Girl with the Louding Voice (published in 2020) and And So I Roar (released in 2024 by Penguin Books). Together, these powerful works form a compelling narrative that follows the journey of a 14-year-old girl forced into marriage. Against all odds, she dares to dream of becoming a teacher and devotes herself to empowering other young girls facing similar injustices. The novels blend humour, resilience, and hope.
Abi Daré is an award-winning author whose debut novel, The Girl with the Louding Voice, won the Bath Novel Award in 2018 prior to publication and was shortlisted for prestigious first-novel prizes, including the Desmond Elliott Prize.
Her second novel, And So I Roar, recently won the inaugural Climate Fiction Prize, a major international award recognising outstanding climate-themed fiction.🌳
The conference will be followed by a drinks reception.😊🥂
