Dear Afternooners,
It has been eons and you are missed! It's just been a very busy time. Expect many more hikes in the new year.
Jordan, your fellow Afternooner reprising her role as an excellent guest star co-host, and Sarah invite you to join us as we hike beautiful Caballero Canyon in Tarzana. Please read the details below to see if this is a good fit for you.
Note that this is a moderate hike with inclines and some narrow pathways combined with steep drop-offs. If you have balance issues, you may need to avoid this hike or use a walking stick for some narrower parts of the trail. There will be hikes next year that people can more easily do if they experience mobility issues. Please feel free to message Sarah if you have any questions.
When : Sunday, December 28th at 1:00 p.m. for introductions. Hike will be begin at 1:15 p.m. Duration is approximately 3 hours, depending on how far we want to go. The hike length is approximately 5.4 miles. We will make stops when needed.
Where : Caballero Canyon, 4047 Reseda Blvd, Tarzana, CA 91356. Located across the street from the Braemar County Club and Estates. Cross street: County Club Place. Street parking is free. Look for a group of people on the sidewalk in front of the trailhead.
Bathrooms : were not visible when we previewed the hike. Paying customers can use the bathroom located 5 minutes/2 miles away at Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf at the corner of Reseda and Ventura Blvd. (address is 18505 Ventura Blvd, Tarzana, CA 91356).
Bring : Shoes with an excellent grip, water, a snack, sunglasses, a hat, and a jacket.
Health: if you're feeling under the weather, please stay home and recuperate. We look forward to seeing you another time.
