What we’re about
The ABQ Tarot Tribe turned 15 years old in 2024 and has been growing steadily in membership. Inspired by Carrie Paris (www.carrieparis.com) who created the original Santa Fe Tarot Tribe Meetup Group, and birthed here in Albuquerque in 2009 by Margaret Letzkus and Robert Hahn, since 2013 our Tribe has been under the guidance of Cheryl Ryder. Thanks to all of our members, friends, and sponsors for their loyal support.
Each year we look forward to creating new programs as we delve deeper into our studies of the tarot with all of its mystery and wisdom. Please join us for the explorations of this ancient and sacred divination craft for enlightenment. Membership is free; we only ask reasonable donations for attendance at events in order to cover operational costs.
We promise to continue bringing quality presentations to further our collective knowledge of ourselves and the universe of consciousness.

By special request from our members! We will be sharing our journeys over the next 49 days, the Counting of the Omer.
The kabbalistic tradition of Counting the Omer, daily meditation on each of the 49 days between Pesach (Passover) and Shavuot (Pentecost) begins on the second night of Pesach, which occurs at in 2025 at Sundown on Sunday April 13th, 2025 and ends at Sundown on the 49th day, at Sundown on Saturday May 31st. On the 50th day, The Feast of First Fruits, or Shavuot/Pentecost, begins at Sundown on Sunday May 31st and ends at Sundown Monday June 1st. See the Chapter on Shavuot in Mark's book for the tarot meditation on Shavuot.
We'll be following along in Mark Horn's book as before : "Tarot and the Gates of Light: A Kabbalistic Path to Liberation", and using our tarot cards as illustrations of the kabbalistic principles presented to us from the Sephirot of the Tree of Life, work to throw off our self-imposed chains of bondage (mental-emotional-physical-spiritual), defeat our inner Pharaohs, and make our way to our own sacred mountains whilst preparing to receive a spiritual revelation, each in our own way.
This journey through the tarot minor arcana cards numbers 4-10, in the suit of your choice, corresponds Sephirot 4-10 on the Kabbalistic Tree of Life of the Jewish Tradition (not the Golden Dawn tradition.)
Because I too am counting the Omer for my own personal enlightenment and growth, there is no charge for this series of gatherings.

# What is an Incubator Group?
Normally, I’d be in New York City right now surrounded by fabulous Tarot peeps celebrating my birthday. Yes, today I’m 69 years of vibrant, complex, dynamic energy, and thank you in advance for your birthday wishes. I feel it in my heart.
But, back to New York City for a moment. This little country gal enjoys her week in the Big Apple with its hustle and bustle, Grand Central Station, the Morgan Museum where Gina Thies and I would do our Tarot research, and my very favorite things…walking through Central Park and visiting as many The Apple Stores as possible to take advantage of all the free classes. So yes, I’m missing my little New York fix and my friends from The Tarot School.
But here’s the wild thing, I got one of those downloads a couple of weeks ago. It had to do with how do I bring this fabulous experience to all of us who are missing this annual gathering of the Tarot Tribes. This brilliant idea is an extension of what I would actually be doing right now, leading one of the “Incubator” groups on a special topic. For example, for a couple of years, my topic was “Coming Out of Your Metaphysical Closet”, Haha!
The Incubator groups were arranged at round tables with each one of us Incubator leaders assigned a table. Then, whoever was interested in our topic would come to our table.
