The Four Powers of Life: Understanding Court Cards as Stances of Growth and Maturity Within the Domains of Life.
Tarot doesn’t show us who someone "is" —it shows us how life is being engaged.
What if every tarot reading could be understood through four simple forces that shape human experience?
In our last gathering, we explored the Minor Arcana Cards as Energy Demands within the Four Domains of Life—Acting, Caring, Understanding, Building—and how they appear through the tarot suits and the movement of energy through the numbers.
In this Tarot Tribe Session, we'll explore how the Court Cards reveal how life experience is being engaged through different stances of growth and maturity.
We'll move away from from reading Court Cards as personalities to recognize them as patterns of life engagement that appear throughout many situations and human behaviors.
This important shift in perspective allows readings to move away from labeling and judging to observing, understanding, and effectively responding.
## Together we’ll explore:
🌱 Page — Discovering Capacity
Where is awareness just beginning to open?
🔥 Knight — Developing Capability
Where is learning being actively tested and explored?
🌿 Queen — Regulating Ability
Where are capability and skills being further tested, integrated, and refined into regulated ability?
👑 King — Directing with Agency
Where is regulated ability combined with personal responsibility so that the intentional application of will and power are balanced and effective?
## What you’ll take away
• A clear understanding of Court Cards as developmental stances, not personality labels
• A simple way to recognize how experience is being engaged
• A practical method for applying Court Cards in real-life situations
• Hands-on experience working with the Four Powers and Court Cards together
• Insightful discussion with fellow tarot enthusiasts
• A handout containing key ideas and examples
Whether you’re new to tarot or have been reading for years, this session offers a grounded way to see how growth, skill, and maturity shape the way we engage with life—and how the cards reflect that process.
Through tarot, together we’ll explore how the Four Powers and these developmental stances interact in real situations.
This approach can bring clarity to readings and help you see familiar cards in a fresh and practical way.
All experience levels are welcome.
Bring a tarot deck if you have one. (We have loaners in case you don't.)
Bring a sweater or light jacket in case the room temperature is cool.
You are welcome to bring beverages in sealable containers and snacks.
Seat cushions are recommended (the chairs are metal).
Tarot Tribe gatherings are relaxed, friendly, and exploratory — a space for tarot enthusiasts to learn together, share insights, and deepen their connection with the cards.
