## Tarot Court Cards: The Whole Cast Within Us
### Forget Memorizing Sixteen People!
Pages, Knights, Queens and Kings —
why do Court Cards have to be so darned difficult?
Is the Page a child? A message? A beginner?
Is the Queen an actual woman—or some quality you're supposed to possess?
Is the King a boss, father, authority figure, or personality type?
And just who is that Knight charging around on his horse supposed to be?
What if we've been making Court Cards much harder than they need to be?
At our next Albuquerque Tarot Tribe gathering, we're going to put aside the long lists of personality descriptions, ages, genders and stereotypes and try something different:
We're going to learn the Courts by living them.
Through hands-on activities, real-life scenarios and plenty of card pulling, we'll learn to recognize what each Court may be showing us about how people learn, practice, develop skill, respond to circumstances and take responsibility.
By the end of our time together, instead of looking at a Court Card and wondering:
“Who the heck is THIS supposed to be?”
you'll have a simple way to begin asking:
What human capacity is showing up here?
How developed is it?
Where can I see it operating in this situation?
And what might I do with what I've noticed?
Bring your favorite tarot deck and come meet the whole cast within you.
No memorizing sixteen people required.
MEETUP HOUSEKEEPING AND LOGISTICS:
### What to Bring & What to Expect
All experience levels are welcome. Bring a tarot deck if you have one — loaner decks are available if you don't.
Our chairs are metal, so seat cushions are highly recommended! You may also want to bring a sweater or light jacket in case the room temperature is cool.
Feel free to bring snacks and beverages. Beverages must be in sealable containers, please.
Albuquerque Tarot Tribe gatherings are relaxed, friendly and exploratory. We are committed to providing a safe, welcoming and inclusive space for everyone. We respect differences in identity, background, experience, belief, spirituality and perspective. Curiosity and disagreement are welcome; disrespect, harassment, discrimination and attempts to impose beliefs on others are not.
