Sit Around The Fire is a 10‑week in‑person meditation series in Folkestone. A small group, a steady rhythm, a shared hearth through the winter.

Each week we meet to sit, breathe, and listen. We offer attention to what moves through the body, what emerges between us, what asks to be felt. The work is simple in form and alive in its unfolding. Over the weeks a quiet trust builds, and the group begins to find its own pulse.

Through this rhythm, our capacity stretches. And our capacity matters – not just personally, but collectively. It’s what allows us to stay present in the face of complexity and intensity, to hold discomfort without collapsing or retreating, to sense the threads that bind our inner experience to the wider world.

It’s what allows us to respond with truth rather than performance or urgency. The circle becomes a site of practice. A rehearsal for the kind of presence the world is roaring for more of.

The fire within the circle is both literal and symbolic. It marks the centre we return to, the warmth that reminds us we’re not alone in the dark. We're beyond personal healing now – our inner work must help us remember what we’re responsible to, and what’s still possible between us.

You’re invited to join the circle and tend this remembering.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Each session weaves together:
• a story or spoken thread to open the field
• guided somatic meditation
• collective ritual or enquiry
• space for rest and integration
• occasional guest offerings (sound, movement, deep rest)

No experience needed, no performance required. There's deep permission to come as you are.

THE SHAPE OF THE SERIES

Each week centres around an archetype – a deep pattern or presence we encounter together through story, sensation, and shared enquiry.

the fire • the land • the body • the village • the resonance • the bow • the ache • the dream • the journey • the one

I've personally encountered and worked with each of these ten archetypes during the last few years. They each made themselves known in their own way, and always during a season of reckoning or return. Together, they offer this meditation series a kind of rhythm. A way of orienting when the path isn’t clear.

Rather than ideas to understand, these symbols or images or beings are presences we'll sit with. Each week, one will guide us through story, through sensation, through what rises between us in the room.

I wanted the curriculum to feel like a spiral rather than a linear process. A shared rhythm for the group as we wind through a winter of change.

PRACTICAL INFO:

WHAT TO BRING
• something to sit on – a cushion or mat (some provided)
• a blanket or warm layers
• a notebook and pen
• a bottle of water (tea will be provided)
• anything you’d bring for the group altar – a scarf, something from nature, a talisman, etc (optional)
We’ll be sitting, resting, and sometimes moving gently – nothing strenuous, but come in clothes you can settle in.

SLIDING SCALE
