The Anchor Circle, Supporting family, friends with Mental illness
Details
Welcome to this community. We’re glad you’re here.
The Anchor Circle was created for families, friends, coworkers, and anyone who supports someone living with mental health challenges. Whether you’re here to learn, to connect, or simply to breathe for a moment, you belong in this space.
Our purpose is simple: To offer support, share education, and build genuine connection so no one has to navigate this journey alone.
Before we begin, it’s important to share that I am not a therapist and cannot provide clinical advice. This group is not a substitute for professional mental health care. Instead, it’s a place for understanding, encouragement, and community.
What we value here:
- Confidentiality — What’s shared in this group stays in this group.
- Respect — Every person’s experience matters.
- No judgment — We meet each other with understanding, not criticism.
- Healthy communication — We speak honestly, listen fully, and respond with care.
- Boundaries — We honor our own limits and the limits of others.
- Compassionate support — We focus on empathy, not fixing or diagnosing.
This is also a space for caregivers and supporters to share their own experiences. Supporting someone you care about can be meaningful, but it can also be exhausting, confusing, or lonely. Here, you’re encouraged to talk about your feelings, your challenges, and you're healing. Your well‑being matters too.
We hope this group becomes a place where you feel seen, understood, and supported—one conversation at a time.
Along with conversation and connection, we’ll also host restorative events—things like a spa day, sporting events, lunch outings, outdoor activities, walks or simply meeting for a cup of tea or coffee. These moments give us a chance to unwind, recharge, and build community in a gentle, supportive way-one gathering, one shared moment at a time.
