In JUNE the Friday night BEGINNING lessons at the Golden Lion is Beginning West Coast Swing!

$ 7.00 pp per class. or $ 10. pp for both classes (int and beginning)

Join us on Friday nights for a fun west coast swing class including patterns for the social dance floor with variations, styling, and technique tips. This class is progressive throughout the month.

West Coast swing is a popular form of swing that has it's origins in smooth lindy but has turned into it's own unique dance style that has lots of room for personal expression and music interpretation. It allows for fun moves and styling, and variations for both leaders and followers. West coast swing has grown in popularity outside the United States in the past 10 years - becoming very popular in Europe, Russia, and Korea among other places. You can find lots of great west coast swing conventions around the lower 48 if you decide to take this dance to the next level - or - you can enjoy dancing west coast swing socially in Alaska :)

Liv and Van have been teaching hustle, west coast swing, country western 2-step, and night club 2-step together since 2001. We will cover west coast swing basics, good technique and fun moves for the social dance floor. Liv and Van are also founders and directors of West Coast Swing Alaska - a non-profit swing and social dance club founded in 2001.
