Beginning West Coast Swing

$ 7.00 pp per class. or $ 10. pp for both classes (int and beginning)

Join us on Friday nights for a fun west coast swing class including patterns for the social dance floor with variations, styling, and technique tips.

West Coast Swing is known as the dancers dance. It allows for a lot of music intepretation and play. It is danced to blues, funk, and smooth jazz.

Open Dancing to live music by Don Walker after the intermediate class (8:30PM). Don plays a mix of dance music.

Liv and Van have been teaching weekly lessons in west coast swing, hustle, night club 2-step, and cw 2-step since 2001. They won Division IV at the Portland Dance Festival in 2000. Liv competes in wcs (int level), hustle (adv. level), and nc 2-step(adv. level) at west coast swing and hustle events. Liv and Van have been guest instructors for local groups, and have taught 1-3 day week-end workshops in Fairbanks, Soldotna, and Juneau. They are both directors and co-founders of West Coast Swing Alaska - a non-profit West Coast Swing and Social Dance Club.
