About us

The Art Center is a nonprofit community teaching center and gallery in Johns Creek. We regularly host free community events like Creator Circle Open Studio days and gallery show receptions, and we occasionally hold the one-off plein air meeting or artist board game night.

Hobbyist, professionals, and art-curious folk at every skill level are welcome to join us, find new friends, inspire each other, and make life more colorful and creative. You don't have to be a current member, resident, or student to come to our events; you just have to love the arts!

Our core event will be the weekly Creator Circle meetups, a free open studio time to work on your projects or simply play with other artists. Most weeks we'll have a random assortment of materials available to explore and inspire your next piece (varies based on donations received). We cannot accommodate wet clay work or anything that produces heavy fumes, but otherwise all mediums are welcome! Ceramicists are invited to bring their bisque pieces and their own underglazes/glazes to join in the fun with us.

Earth Day Artist Swap

Earth Day Artist Swap

Johns Creek Art Center, 6290 Abbots Bridge Rd #700, Johns Creek, GA, US

As you spring clean your studio, set aside your unwanted gently used supplies for The Art Center's Earth Day Artist Swap!

Held in conjunction with our Upcycled exhibition, the Earth Day Artist Swap encourages both recycling and exploration with your art supplies. No money or negotiations are necessary for the swap; just leave what you don't want and take what you do! Be sure to bring a reusable bag to "shop" the used supplies.

For a list of accepted materials for the Artist Swap, check out Scraplanta's Material Donation Guide here: https://www.scraplanta.org/donate#anchors-mim59xax6

We will also accept the following:
-Organization supplies, like bins or small drawers. No large, heavy furniture please!
-Studio supplies: easels, clay tools, etc
-Display equipment for art shows (again, no large, heavy furniture. You can leave information if you have a something like a spare vendor tent you’re trying to get rid of).

If you are unsure about an item, please call us at 770-623-8448

Drop offs of unwanted supplies can begin as early as 3 PM on Thursday April 23 at the Annex (Suite 606, right next door to the main building), but the official event is held on Saturday.

While you're here, check out Scraplanta's recycled papermaking workshop! Accepting students ages 9 and older, this workshop is a fun and affordable way to learn how to make paper from your old junk mail. Great to do with a friend, by yourself, or with the whole family!
