Returning to Yourself: A 4-Week Journaling Circle for Creatives
Details
A reflective summer programme for creatives.
📍 Online via Zoom
đź—“ 4 weekly sessions | Mondays 7.30-9.00pm UK time beginning 15 June
This 4-week summer journaling course is designed as a space to return to a deeper relationship with your own inner life, creative identity, and way of being.
Journaling is one of the oldest and most powerful reflective practices because it allows us to slow down enough to hear ourselves again. In a culture shaped by speed, distraction, performance, and constant output, many people lose touch with what they genuinely think, feel, want, and need. A sustained journaling practice creates a different kind of relationship with yourself — one grounded in attention, honesty, curiosity, and inner continuity.
Over these four weeks, you’ll learn how to build journaling into your life as a meaningful reflective ritual that supports clarity, emotional processing, creativity, decision-making, and self-understanding long after the course ends.
Across four 90-minute sessions, we’ll use guided journaling, reflective exercises, contemplative practices, and gentle group discussion to explore what sustainable creative practice actually looks like, especially for sensitive, thoughtful, emotionally complex people.
This is for creatives who often feel:
- mentally overloaded
- creatively fragmented
- perfectionistic or self-critical
- disconnected from their own voice
- exhausted by constant productivity culture
- unsure how to sustain meaningful creative work without burnout
You do not need to identify as a professional writer or artist to attend. This space is open to anyone drawn to creativity, reflection, and personal growth.
Week 1 (15 June): The Creative Self Beneath the Noise
- Reconnecting with your real motivations, longings, and creative identity beneath pressure and performance.
Week 2 (22 June): Perfectionism, Sensitivity, and Inner Criticism
- Understanding the emotional patterns that interrupt creative flow and learning how to relate to yourself differently.
Week 3 (29 June): Ritual, Rhythm, and Sustainable Practice
- Creating forms of structure that support your creativity rather than exhaust it.
Week 4 (6 July): Writing the Next Chapter
- Clarifying what you want this next season of your creative life to become, and how to move toward it with integrity and steadiness.
Each session will include:
- guided journaling prompts
- reflective teaching
- optional sharing and discussion
- contemplative exercises
- practical integration for daily life
